Hey Everyone! Dad—Be warned–This is a Girly post. 🙂 Most women are thinking about Valentine’s Day that is coming this weekend, be it negatively or positively. I remember being single in NYC for so long, and dreading the day I knew I wouldn’t be getting any flowers…….. but in a sense, I loved that time. I learned to love myself so much, and enjoyed buying flowers for myself, and investing in my girlfriends and my interests. Since I’ve gotten married, I find those same attributes are equally important to me. I invest in loving myself, rather than focusing on certain expectations, and I find I’m much more positive and appreciative for the things my husband does for me.
It has come to our attention, we may be traveling this weekend (can’t wait to possibly reveal WHERE) so we decided to do a little pre Valentine’s Day tea at the Chateau Divonne, so I could wear what I was planning. Haha!
I love being colorful during this time, as I find myself wearing such dark colors during winter, and Valentine’s can feel like a small reprieve, pulling out bright pinks and flowers. My hair is looking a little purple in these photos, and I love it, as I used Shimmer Lights that day to take out my brassiness, and it gave me a nice ashy look, as I kept it on for 5 minutes. If you are blonde and haven’t tried Shimmer Lights, do it, as using once a week really keeps your blonde looking fresh!
As I’ve shown you the outside of the Chateau so often, I am happy to give you a preview of the inside. From 3pm to 6pm, they are open to coffee and tea to anyone, and we were quite pleased they seated us in the Library. Also, to those living in the area, they are now going to be doing Sunday brunch one day a month, and it should be spectacular. I can’t wait to try it for myself on the 22nd of February and they informed me I may be able to feature some of the rooms in my future posts. As you walk in, you are greeted by the grand staircase and checkerboard floors that sweep you away to a different era. Straight through is the dining room (they have a fantastic restaurant) but it was closed off while we were there.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Check me out later this week as I discuss perfect lipsticks to create beautiful red or pink lips, and I will also show a less expensive clutch purse for date night! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram!
